Mission Accepted

It's Monday tomorrow and you know what that means... false expectations that tomorrow will be a fresh start. That suddenly I won't crave pizza or pasta and that I will be immediately changed. It's a weekly thought, but it's yet to work.

I am currently on the Weight Watchers plan, and I stick to those points like they are Velcro. But low and behold something comes up, whether it be work, drinks with friends, or just my lack of will power. By Wednesday, I've usually gone back to my old ways.

So here I am...pledging to change my ways once again, but this time publicly. We all struggle but instead of complaining about it, we should help each other. Instead of using work travels or drinks with friends as an excuse for going off track, I'm going to find ways through it. What healthy options are there? How can we all make better choices?

Cheers to false expectations, and turning them into reality, no matter how unlikely they may seem.

Booty Booty Swivel Swivel

If you’re a Tone it Up (TIU) girl, you know that one of the main reasons we love K&K is because they make our workouts fun. Hey they probably even help us develop those abs a little bit further with just their jokes alone. Laughing during a plank? It has to be productive right?

I am officially complete Day 2 of the Bikini Series and I can honestly say it feels good to be back to the TIU program. I strayed for a while, and I have to admit I even cheated with a few other workout programs along the way. At heart I will always be a TIU girl.

Summary of my day:

I spent most of my day in the Ottawa area for work. Travelling for work is tricky when it comes to workouts and food, but it’s all about training your mind to avoid temptation.

Booty Call (at 5:45 am…yuck): Booty workout from Beach Babe 4

M1: Cora’s for breakfast – Toast, fruit and a few breakfast potatoes

M3: Cheese, crackers, carrots, and dip – we were at a conference so it was limited options for healthiness

M5: Small ceaser salad and shared plate of fries

PMWO: 1.5 miles (20 min on treadmill) + new TIU workout

As you can see there’s quite a bit of room for improvement with my eating. I could make up a million and one excuses but I really just need to keep working towards my healthy lifestyle.

With that being said I am really a TIU girl for life… any one care to join me?

2016 Bikini Series

It's Bikini Series time, and never have I been so excited for a new challenge!

Every year I commit to the Bikini Series and every year I fall off the wagon very early on. Whether it's the excuse of not enough time, or the stress eating that I fall victim to all too often, I always find a reason to quit on a goal I was so determined to meet. This year, it's time to break that habit.

I've decided the best way to stick to a goal is to document it through and through. It also gives me the opportunity to share with new TIU girls what a Bikini Series is really like. No filter.

This Bikini Series I am starting in Ottawa on a business trip. To prepare for today I scoped out the gym and quickly realized it was not big enough for my Bikini Babe 4 workout. Hotel room prep time begins..

Cue the alarm... 5:30 am and I was up and at 'em. If you want to fit in 2 workouts a day, there really is no option, but luckily with my eyes half open, I was very excited to try out my new Bikini Babe 4 workout. Today was Rock Your Body and my first experience was amazing. I got in all of my daily workouts too, except for the burpees since I think the hotel may have something to say about that.

But as our TIU trainers always say, workouts are where the abs are made but the nutrition plan is where the results show. So how did I do for eating today?... let's just say there's no abs peaking through.

M1: Fruit + English Muffin - I had a business meeting so this one was tough! I really wanted the pancakes but I resisted

M2: French vanilla - I hate coffee so I caved cause I was exhausted from the early wake up

M3: Margherita Pizza.... no comment

M4: Smoothie with protein

M5: Steak and Garlic Mashed

It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst either. There is a lot of room for improvement!

Here's to a new and improved me! Bikini Series... you rock.

Research

When you think of the word research what does it remind you of? For most, it probably brings back memories of late nights, trying to find some useless facts for some random paper that you can’t even remember. I’m all about education, I even work in the field, but research was something that in retrospect, didn’t do much for me. Does it mean it’s a useless skill? Absolutely not!

To this day research is a key part of my life. As a road warrior (yes, my team likes to call ourselves that) I travel frequently for work and need to do research every single day. I research the best route to take to my destination, the destination itself, and most importantly what food I can find nearby.

Now I’m on a bit of an anti-health kick at the moment, otherwise known as kicking my own ass by eating everything I shouldn’t eat. Like every week before, I will instantly regret this decision as soon as I hit the scale. A lot of the mistakes I’m making boil down to a lack of research. I didn’t look at menus in advance, and I went to restaurants I know I like, but also know will not be healthy in the slightest. Goal for next week? Research my meals for the whole week! They say meal prep is a key to success, well  in my case so is research, so excuse me while I find me some goodies that don’t involve chocolate or carb overloads.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Once upon a time...

I worked out daily, I watched what I ate, and I lived what I believed was a healthy lifestyle. I saw changes in my body, and got the compliments I hoped these changes would invite. But this was far from any fairy-tale…

I’d met my goal weight and loved that I wasn’t constantly worried about what I could or couldn’t wear during the sticky summer months where jeans just wouldn’t cut it. The pictures from that year are still some of my favourites, because being toned meant I didn’t have to pose a particular way. But looking good on the outside didn’t mean my insides agreed…

A few summers ago, I thought I was healthy, but let me explain my idea of a healthy lifestyle.

I was a calorie counter, and though I still believe this can be a useful way to lose weight, it can also be extremely dangerous. I stuck within my calorie limits like a boss, but I did this by eating ridiculous food that no adult should eat every. single. day. Did I eat much meat? No. Did I eat many vegetables? Absolutely not. But I did eat plenty of children’s snacks, canned pasta meals and microwave dinners. Nostalgia never tasted so good. I looked good, I felt good, and figured this was absolutely acceptable. That is until one day I made a trip to the doctors…

I’d be feeling faint, and as a prone anaemic, I assumed my iron levels were low. So I went to the doctor for a routine blood test to see if maybe that was the case. My iron was low, and so was my B12, but that wasn’t what the doctor was worried about.

“Kim, you have really high cholesterol levels”

Excuse me? High cholesterol? But I’ve been taking care of myself, I lost weight and I go to the gym a couple hours a day, surely this can’t be true?

But it was… at 24 years of age I had high cholesterol and boy was that a wakeup call. No 24 year old should have high cholesterol. Calorie counting meant I had a tendency to pick foods with lots of sodium. Lots of sodium = high cholesterol.

Fast forward 2 years to age 26 and here I am, probably the heaviest I’ve ever been, Would I consider myself healthy now? Absolutely not. I am addicted to pizza and pasta, and have a mean case of not being able to commit to any workout program for longer than a week. But I’m aware of this form of unhealthy, and it’s something I need to battle. I’m sharing this story as a reminder to myself that losing weight is a marathon, not a sprint, and that living a healthy lifestyle is not what I thought it was 2 years ago.

It’s time to change my once upon a time to happily ever after…

Fat week.

“Oh well, it’s fat week!” – an excuse a friend and I used to eat exactly what we wanted, when we wanted, all week long. Friends, I suggest you never try this.

My “fat week” began on Tuesday, when a little bit of stress had me thinking of pizza & all types of junk food. I’m a stress eater, there is no doubt about it and this week was no exception. Next came Wednesday, and Thursday, and by Friday those healthy habits I had worked so hard to build were far gone. My body was unimpressed to say the least.

With the Bikini Series (Tone it Up program) in its last week this couldn’t have been any bigger of a fail. I am so so so proud of my fellow tone it uppers who have made amazing progress through the series. As seen in the many before and after pics on Instagram, you ladies look great! I can’t say the before for me is much different than the after but that completely falls on me.

To motivate myself to refresh and start on a new Tone it Up journey, one with no fat weeks & hopefully a lot more willpower, I did what any wise girl would do… I shopped. With the Tone it Up sale on this weekend, I bought myself a sweatshirt, tank top & matching necklaces for me and my TIU bestie. Motivation works better in a team, don’t you think?

Tone it up round two begins tomorrow – meals are prepped and my brain & body are ready. Here’s to second chances and learning from our mistakes <3

Tone it up tuesday

No it’s not tequila Tuesday, or toonie tuesday (which essential means the same thing). Instead Tone it Up Tuesday has become one of my favourite days of the week. Tone it Up ladies – this day is for you!

Let’s begin with what is Tone it Up. For those ladies who are not a part of the Tone it Up community, first thing is first, join! Tone it Up is about living a healthy and happy lifestyle that is about hard work, dedication but also what I love the most, fun! If you’ve ever completed a Tone it Up workout video you know, these ladies are hilarious! They are fun, energetic and honestly the best trainers the internet ever did provide. Did I mention they are a couple of hotties? Hello inspiration!

10014746_10152378148709801_5699546384704583575_o

The other thing I adore about Tone it Up is the sense of community as soon as you begin your journey. Whether or not you join their nutrition plan there is abundant amount of support through their website & social media. On a daily basis I am supported and lend my support to girls across the world who share the same goals and lifestyle that I have chosen for myself. It’s much harder to fail when you have thousands of girls behind you along the way. It is also a great way to hold yourself accountable because admitting defeat to yourself may be easy, but you want to make your fellow Tone it Uppers proud!

Every Tuesday I hope to post something related to this amazing group of ladies I have been oh so lucky to become a part of. Let’s share in our successes together and push through any obstacles or bumps in the road as a team. Let’s tone it up together!

Lazy sunday

Weekends will forever be the curse of me. Like a burger with two delicious buns sandwiching it perfectly, weekends are sandwiched between two of my favourite things: alcohol and not-so-healthy food.

Spending time with friends is a must on a weekend and being mid-20s, the bar calls our names most the time. I struggle with resisting the things that often go along with this atmosphere and this is something I need to believe I can do. Am I going to give up beer? Hell no! But going into a Friday with the attitude that I’m going to cheat pretty much sets me up for failure. #proven.

After another cheat-filled weekend I woke up today with the realization that this can’t keep happening. This week I will learn how to find balance. If I’m going to drink I most definitely can’t eat so much junk food as well. Cutting back in moderation is the first step!

Today – though motivated by recent lack of motivation – I felt extremely lazy! With crappy weather and a baseball game I really wanted to watch, I decided to turn my laziness into a tiny bit of a workout. Introducing the baseball workout:

314082_3278324930875_1844899115_n

Basically every time my team was up to bat I did some kind of mini workout depending on the outcome. As my team was absolutely terrible today I ended up doing mostly burpees, my least favourite of all exercises (damn you Blue Jays).

This workout can absolutely be tweaked to include whichever areas you want to work and however many reps you feel like on that given day. I started low but next time I think I will raise the bar. You could also make another list of exercises for the opposing team to keep your workout going the whole game long. I instead did chores during those half of the innings to maximize my overall efficiency.

So it seems that lazy Sundays can be productive at the same time.

Think About It – Which sport would you play?

Professional sports – it’s something so many of us buy in to with both our money and our time. Have you ever thought what league you wish you could be a part of?

whichsport

Personally I would choose hockey. Yes, it could be the Canadian in me but I find it to be the most exciting of all of the sports I follow. Excitement aside, think of all that cardio!

I guess I wouldn’t mind the MLB or NFL for boys in tights though. & the salaries of any of them? Yes please!

According to Livestrong this is the average number of calories burned in an hour of play for each sport:

Baseball

Basketball

Hockey

Football

364

544

586

656

** This is for a 150lb player & there are many factors to be considered. Please see Livestrong for a more in depth analysis

So did you change your mind? Any sport is a better option then sitting around doing nothing, so get out there & play! :)

Guess Who’s Back!?

Just under a year ago I decided to take a break from blogging. At the time I never would have imagined that break would be anywhere near as long as it ended up being, but here we are.

Life has been a whirlwind but I am excited to start sharing again. I have joined a new team of ladies on a fitness adventure of a lifetime and I am beyond excited to be able to use this as a means to connect once again. Tone it up ladies – this is for you!

I’m keeping this short but expect a lot from me in the very near future :)

How NOT to train for a 5k

Don’t train at all.

….

I’m amazing at this and could seriously write a whole post full of tips, but let’s be real here folks, training for a 5k is necessary and if you’re planning on running one you really should train. That being said, I have a 5k on Saturday and I have ran all of 5k straight in my life, and that was this week. Well that’s somewhat of a lie - I did the warrior dash last year which was also 5k but that’s something else entirely. Keep posted for July when the Warrior Dash swings around again and I most likely explain my lack of training for this as well. I have never been a runner but for some reason, beyond any explanation I can understand, I signed up for TWO 5ks in the span of one week. Makes sense right?

My first 5k training run went surprisingly well considering my lack of running experience. As a newbie, I didn’t stretch but I’ve learned my lesson on that. Great route and some great beats later, below are my stats according to Nike +.

image

Not bad for my first real run but I need to learn not to give up near the end. I blame it on the hill leading up to my condo, it was just so intimidating!

My 2nd attempt is tomorrow then the big run on Saturday. Wish me luck!

Planks? No problem! Ha.

Let me tell you a little story about my childhood, more specifically my gym class experience. In high school we had a whole lot of fitness tests which is of course why I didn’t make it all the way to grade 12. All of the tests with much practice I actually became good at except the beep test because as I often express, I hate running. I was awesome at the pushups, the sit ups and the plank. I would even get over 100% on the finals and back then thought nothing of it. Weird thing is, I was no fitness guru back then and definitely won’t claim to be now.

This brings me to my point… I suck at these things now! I had Bikini Bootcamp on Sunday and I couldn’t even plank for 1 minute. How sad is that guys? I’m so disgusted with this lack of core strength that I have made it my goal to build up my plank time. This is a great idea because A) I can avoid looking so silly  and not lay flat on my face after 10 seconds and B) why not work on my abs right? I saw a beauty of a schedule on Pinterest and thought I’d give it a try. Below is my take on the 30 day plank challenge.

plank chalenge

So what do you think? Do-able? I sure hope so. Fingers crossed!!

On a side note – I really should be training for my 5k. I started today but I sure hope one day I’ll learn to focus on one thing at a time. Until then…

“What!? No baseball?” Kinda Weekend

Being a Season Ticket Holder is hard work! It means majority of our weekends this summer are consumed with days at the ballpark cheering our team on. Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but boy is it nice to have a weekend off every once in a while. This weekend the Jays were off in San Diego (losing again – 2/3) so we were able to make some plans that didn’t involve hot dogs, plastic seats, and boys in tight pants. The latter part was greatly missed but I did watch a few innings on TV to get my fix.

With a free weekend ahead I did what any good daughter would do, I went to visit my parents. Moving away from home I promised them I’d make an effort to visit and it’s really not a promise that’s hard to keep. When I have free time I want to go home and see them. Free loving and free food, does it get any better? No way! As expected we were spoiled as always and had a great evening. My mom may have wanted to kill us all with our Candy Crush competitions but it was still awesome. Steak, veggies, and a to-die-for chocolate cake later and my diet is once again shot. Oh and the massive chocolate bar I packed to bring home – yeah that’s gone already. Whoops.

With a free weekend also comes many errands. We were so busy last weekend we didn’t even go grocery shopping so our pantry and fridge were extremely lacking. So lacking that all I could put together was cheese and crackers, yeah, that’s struggles. So Sunday consisted of grocery shopping, a Swiss Chalet lunch, and a few other stops here and there. We’re all stocked up again and I couldn’t be happier.

Now, let me introduce to you my new obsession, thanks to my lovely friend…

SNAPCHAT!

I know I’m a little behind the times and this app has been around for a while but I absolutely love it. With such a busy schedule I don’t always get to keep in touch with my besties as much as I would like but I’ve already warned them that this app is going to change that. Play by plays of my life are now the norm for my ladies, until I get bored or they kill me that is.

Yesterday I snap-chatted (oh no, I did not just turn that into a verb) my trip to the gym, my swiss chalet lunch, some grocery shopping, the horrible rain outside, the time it got sunny after the rain…etc etc. If you want a play by play of my life add me but be warned, it ain’t pretty.

Overall it was a wonderfully relaxing weekend before the storm that will be the week ahead. T-minus 1 week until my PPAC exam. Save me!

Happy Monday Friends! =)

No Bloom for my Spring Bucket List

So remember that bucket list I made at the beginning of Spring? Well… about that….

It FAILED! Completely. As in, not one single item on the list complete. Let’s recap:

[springg5.jpg]

( ) Spring clean

( ) Go for a run along Lakeshore

( ) Take lots of pictures of the pretty spring colours

( ) Go strawberry picking

( ) Go to the drive in

( ) Decorate (well overdue)

(x) Enjoy a whole lot of baseball!

Okay so I was wrong - I’ve completed one of the items, but really is that just sad or what? I guess you could say I did a spring clean when I pulled out my summer dresses  but that quickly went to waste. I’m a messy gal, a very very messy gal. The boyfriend can vouch for this – unfortunately for him. As for all the other “springy” activities? They sound fantastic, but my busy schedule got in the way.

So my goal? Since I hate being a failure, I want to hit at LEAST one of the other items on this list this week. Spring clean? No way but a run along the Lakeshore sounds just dandy. So dandy (don’t ask where this word came from) in fact that I may have purchased a new ipod as an excuse to take up this new … hobby? Okay, let’s get real, I hate running but the ipod was just so pretty and multi-functional.

Anyways…Wish me luck!!

P.S. Did anyone else have a failure of a bucket list like me? Please tell me I’m not the only one.

Nailed it…or not

I have never been a big nail polish user but as of late I’ve become kind of obsessed. It started with some blue for the baseball game and has grown into a new and flourishing love. Lucky for me I have a bunch of nail polish already and haven’t had to spend a fortune to feed this new addiction. This has also given me the chance to figure out which brands work for me and which are a no go. As a beginner nail painter I look for the brand with a brush that leaves the least amount of errors, since for me there will ALWAYS be some. Here’s my verdict, in no specific order, from the last  month or so:

1. Rimmel – Lasting Finish Pro

Pros: Goes on easily and the colour turned out amazing. I could easily do just one coat and be good to go but two coats worked best.

Cons: The brush is massive and made the application a bit too drippy. With so much polish it also meant a longer drying time.

2. Revlon

Pros: Perfect brush size! This is my absolute favourite type of nail polish and I always end up going back. It dries quickly and during the summer usually has scented tones, how cool is that!?

Cons: I love this one and can’t think of anything bad to say except sometimes they are a little pricey so it’s best to get them when they go on sale.

3.  Essie

Pros: The colours are always super cute and have cute names to go along with them. The brush size is fairly average so it’s definitely a keeper.

Cons: I did have issues with it being a little drippy but maybe that’s my beginner skills

Overall as cute as all of these polishes are I think shellac is my fav! I’m a nail chipping pro.

What’s your favourite polish?

Weekend Shenanigans

If I could summarize this weekend in one word it would be “Wow”. This weekend took my breath away and I could not be more excited to share it with y’all.

Saturday we got to share a very special day with two lovely friends of mine. I cannot explain how beautiful the day and how insanely fun the night was. Minus me getting oil on my dress (so typical) it was honestly flawless. This was the first wedding I’ve attended where a close friend of mine was getting married which is super exciting and kind of scary at the same time. Seems the weddings will only pick up from here so who’s next?

Congrats to the amazing couple!

Sunday after a very hungover morning we headed over to the Dome for the Jays season ticket holder appreciation event. With high hopes of meeting all my favs I knew that no hangover was gonna hold me back. The question really was who I would attack first but the event made that easy for me. In pairs or groups the players had designated line ups and two waves of an hour each. With the amount of season ticket holders this year that made it virtually impossible to hit all the players we wanted. Disappointing but understanding as well. Signing for more than an hour would definitely cause some major hand cramping and we don’t need any more injuries! (Ex. Brett Lawrie ankle sprain tonight – yikes!)

Key moments of the event:

  • My boyfriend got to meet his baseball love Brandon Morrow. It was short but sweet. Oh and side note – he’s a cutie!
  • JP Arencibia was such a sweetheart and not to mention even cuter in person! He smiled and chatted with everyone he met and even stayed back a few minutes extra to finish off his line. We asked him where the country music is at so we’re hoping for a return sometime soon. Some more Luke Bryan perhaps? Fingers crossed!
  • My absolute favourite moment of the night was talking to Jose Reyes. This man is the most positive baseball player I have ever seen and I was so bummed when his line up was too long to get to meet him. Instead I ran up to take a picture and he smiled just for me! I made sure to let him know just how much I love his attitude and walked away beaming from ear to ear. #1 favourite for sure!

DSCN15741

I love this team! May has been much better for the Jays so far and hopefully it’s just up from here. Go Jays Go!

Four Favourites

4fav

I have been dying to do this link up and I’m so excited about it! Every Wednesday both Kristin and Ashlyn share their four favourites of the week. I decided to do the same – polka dot style. I absolutely love all four of these items and would like to remind you all my birthday is only in a few months ;) Just kidding…but seriously, how cute are these!? I know for sure the Victoria Secret suit will be bought sometime this month because it’s spent a whole year on my wish list and is LONG overdue.

Apps-olutely Addicting

Like any human being (or animal?) these days, I am just a tad bit obsessed with my phone. But hello technology, with the amazing selection of Apps out there how could I not be? Here is the list of my Top 10 apps I use and why I love them.

1/2/3. Facebook/Twitter/Instagram: Essential for my social networking needs. These apps keep me in the know.

4. My Fitness Pal: When I’m not being lazy this app makes my fitness goals completely obtainable. It’s with this app that I was able to lose some weight (until I got lazy again that is).

5/6. Pinterest/Wanelo: The cure to my lack of creativity – people find ideas and products for me…Genius!

7. Songza: Perfect for getting ready, cleaning, cooking or any task that may get boring real fast. Dance parties ensue.

8. The Weather Network: Checked daily with hopes of winter being over. It is May after all.

9. The Score Mobile: Usually used to see when my Toronto teams are losing, so basically all the time… sorry for the pessimism folks but it’s often a rough ride being a Toronto fan.

10. Candy Crush Saga: My recent game addiction. Try and stop me – no really please do, it’s getting ridiculous!

What are your app recommendations?

From North to South, but only a little

This past weekend we took a little trip down south. A trip that literally took maybe 15 minutes to complete but still put us in a totally different country with a totally different way of life. Okay, maybe that’s a little drastic but wow are there some differences when you cross that border. Here’s a little recap of my tourist-y visit to Niagara Falls, New York.

1. Outlet Shopping

I love me some good deals so the first stop on our trip had to be the outlet mall. I was in search of some very specific items so I had my hopes high but I failed on those completely. Typical of me but oh well. I still found some goodies and my favourite purchase is 100% these beautiful Nike Frees 7.0. These will be my new gym shoes and my old Frees will be used for outdoor running. Yay for getting fit!

20130518_121638

2. Olive Garden

When deciding where to go for lunch it was essential we hit up an American restaurant. Sure I could have had my favourite Wendy’s or some Buffalo Wild Wings but these are things I can get in Canada anytime. To make the trip a true experience, Olive Garden was the perfect fit. In the end the breadsticks were too salty, the lettuce not completely fresh, and the three jumbo sausages in my meal were a bit too much so maybe I would have been better off with my usual go-tos. Yay for trying new (well not completely new since this is my 2nd time) things?

20130518_134136

3. Walmart

A trip to the States would not be complete without a trip to Walmart. The deals are fantastic and the people even more mind-blowing. You know those Youtube videos that show crazy people in Walmart? Yeah I could probably have added a few more today. Now more about those deals… I was completely hooked on the alcohol section! Frozen drink mixes for $1.97!? Yes please! I also picked up the Bud Light Lime Straw-Ber-Rita in a tall boy can to give it a try. Interesting note – a tall boy can is humongous over there so it’s quite possible I may get drunk off of just one. Lots of groceries also made this trip worthwhile and I can’t wait to try out some of the “unique” items we picked up.

20130518_153847

(This is actually at Wagmans but Walmart had the same sort of selection)

Overall as “different” as the States can be, I really enjoyed my time across the border. With country music & great alcohol I could almost see myself fitting in… but I love Canada too much!

Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend as much as I did! =)

Sauce it Up - Crockpot Style

As I often express, the crockpot is an amazing creation and I would use it every single night if I had the patience to look up new and interesting recipes. I don’t have patience, as my mom would attest to, but one thing I have learned from a few experiments here and there is that you really can try throwing anything in and you will more than likely end up with a genius and delicious creation. That being said I wouldn’t suggest throwing in rotten vegetables or moldy bread but hey, maybe that’s a recipe I missed somewhere.

The easiest way to experiment with the Crockpot is with different sauces. Throw in a bottle of BBQ sauce or your favourite seasoning with your favourite meat (mine being chicken) and your pretty much guaranteed some melt in your mouth deliciousness. We’ve done the typical BBQ sauces, coca cola, or beer but tonight I tried something outside of the normal recipe comfort zone; Swiss Chalet Sauce! I am a Swiss Chalet sauce lover to the max so the idea of chicken soaked in this sauce was only the best idea I have ever thought of. The result? Just proof that experimentation is key and that any sauce will work.

Here’s the recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces of chicken breast (skinless & boneless)
  • 1 package of Swiss Chalet sauce
  • 2 cups of water

Directions

1. Put chicken in crockpot

2. Mix sauce in separate bowl until blended well (there will still be a few bits)

3. Pour sauce over chicken and cook on low for 8 hours

swisschaletdippingsauce

I definitely suggest making sure there is enough water for the chicken. I used less than 2 cups and it was completely soaked up by the time I got home for work. Although the chicken was delicious it was a little drier than the chicken normal is when cooked in the Crockpot.

If you’re a Swiss Chalet sauce lover like me I definitely suggest this. If not, try one of your favourite sauces to give yourself a new and easy go-to recipe.
